Internship Program
Alliance revamped its internship program in 2006 in recognition of our belief that one of the best ways to develop employees is by exposing student-workers to all levels of the company. Over the past three years, Alliance has awarded nearly $100,000 in educational assistance as part of our internship program. In the picture at left, Bryan Lummus - Personnel Recruitment & Development Coordinator (bottom row, right) - stands with many of our latest group of interns.
Our interns are found anywhere from underground at one of our mines to one of the many departments at our Corporate Headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and our Operations Headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. No matter where a student works, he or she forms lasting relationships and builds valuable skills during his or her time with Alliance. We also believe in offering more than just monetary support to our interns -- we ensure that they have access to affordable housing near our mine sites and receive weekly communication of job goals and expectations, and we also provide mentoring programs to help students adjust to being a valuable part of our company. These facets of the internship program help us reach our goal of providing the best possible experience for the students.

We have enjoyed a close working relationship with many colleges and universities and, as a result, have been able to provide opportunities for students in various areas of study. As Alliance continues to grow, we look forward to further expanding our internship program. If you are interested in this program, fill out the general submission form.
