Webster County Coal, LLC operates Dotiki, which is an underground mining complex located near the city of Providence in Webster County, Kentucky. The complex was opened in 1966; Alliance purchased the mine in 1971. Dotiki utilizes continuous mining units employing room-and-pillar mining techniques to produce high-sulfur coal. Dotiki completed the construction of a new preparation plant in 2012. The plant will have a throughput capacity of 1,800 tons of raw coal an hour.

Construction is underway a the Gibson South Complex, which is located due south of our Gibson North mine. The mine will have the ability to ship coal via truck or to transport coal to the rail loadout facility at Gibson North. Alliance expects to invest $180-190 million in development capital for this organic growth project. Production is estimated to begin in the third quarter of 2014.

The terminal has a capacity of 8 million tons per year with existing ground storage. Mt. Vernon is capable of receiving and unloading 105-car unit trains of coal via EVWR (with direct connections to the majority of Class I railroads) that can transfer to ground storage and/or direct to barge(s).

On April 1, 2012, Alliance announced the acquisition of substantially all of the coal-related assets of Green River Collieries, LLC located in Webster and Hopkins counties, Kentucky. The transaction includes approximately 40.0 million tons of coal reserves as well as the Onton No. 9 mine near Sebree, Kentucky. Currently, the mine operates three continuous miner units employing room-and-pillar mining techniques. An air shaft is under construction that will allow the addition of a fourth mining unit should market conditions warrant increased production. The preparation plant has a throughput capacity of 750 tons per hour.

ARLP's investment in the White Oak project is comprised of the following components:
Coal reserves - ARLP has committed to acquire and fund development of 200 million tons of coal reserves related to Mine No. 1. At closing, ARLP acquired approximately 100 million tons of leased and fee coal reserves and will acquire the remaining coal reserves in a series of follow-on transactions. ARLP will lease the acquired coal reserves back to WOR in exchange for a royalty income stream.
Coal handling facilities, preparation plant and surface facilities - ARLP has committed money to acquire surface rights and construct the coal handling, preparation plant, rail and coal loading facilities necessary to support Mine No. 1. ARLP will operate these surface facilities and serve as the sole provider of coal preparation and handling services and will receive a throughput fee on all feedstock coal through the Alliance WOR Processing, LLC subsidiary.
Preferred equity investment - ARLP has committed to invest for a preferred equity interest in WOR.
